Video-instalación.​

 

Este trabajo consistió en la instalación de un monitor tras un recorte en el portón de una excavación inmobiliaria abandonada en el barrio Patronato, mostrando hacia el espacio público el registro en video del perímetro interno del sitio.

​

Patronato es un sector de Santiago marcado por sucesivas capas migratorias —comunidades árabes a principios del siglo XX, y coreanas y latinoamericanas durante las últimas décadas— que han transformado paulatinamente los usos del espacio y sus materialidades, derivando la identidad residencial del barrio hacia una dinámica comercial e industrial. A partir de este contexto, la obra aborda los muros perimetrales como un archivo donde quedan inscritas las transformaciones históricas y sociales del entorno.

This work consisted of installing a monitor behind a cutout in the gate of a halted real estate excavation site in the Patronato neighborhood, displaying to the public space the video record of the site's internal perimeter.

​

Patronato is an area of Santiago shaped by successive migratory layers—Arab communities at the beginning of the 20th century, and Korean and Latin American communities over recent decades—which have gradually transformed the uses of space and its materialities, deriving the neighborhood's residential identity into a commercial and industrial dynamic. Based on this context, the work approaches the perimeter walls as an archive where the historical and social transformations of the environment are inscribed.
